Lighting on Location Strobist Class in Singapore

Blend Light, Tame Light.
1 session of 4 hours, S$180 (see discount or sign up now)

This one-session workshop answers your “strobist” needs and is perfect for those wanting to learn how to blend flash and ambient light.

Learn the techniques to overpower ambient light for drama, blend your flash with ambience for natural-looking portraits, or colour your shots with gels.

In line with our approach of minimal classroom time, maximum shooting time, you’ll get lots of hands-on practice on how to light portraits on location in various places in city area of Singapore.

Working in small groups, each participant would have the chance to play different roles in the lighting process, such as the photographer, the lighting specialist and the model to complete your learning process from all perspectives.

Lighting up your subject is easy—just point it at them. But only a thorough understanding of how light behaves would not only help you light up your subjects in the right quality of light you desire.

You will learn to use your flash as both a key as well as fill light depending on the mood you wish to create for your portrait.

By the end of this workshop, you’ll learn about the tools of the trade involved in great lighting on location portraits, discover how to choose effective backgrounds, learn how to tame ambient light or co-opt it as additional light in your portraits.

Most importantly, you’d have lots of fun! Each instructor will guide a maximum of five students so you can be sure you’ll get individual attention from our instructors. The lesson will take place in the city area of Singapore.
